We are looking to fill a full time, day shift, Foundry Engineer position with a manufacturer located in the U.P. of Michigan.
- Foundry experience is not necessarily required but must have strong tooling background in plastics or metal stamping in lieu of foundry tooling experience.
SALARY RANGE : $85K TO $95K DOE. Relocation assistance is available $3k to $5k depending on location.
The Foundry Engineer determines the most efficient tooling design and configuration to profitably produce castings within customer specifications.
REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology or equivalentModelling using SolidWorks or CreoSimulation experience, MAGMASOFT preferredExperience in root cause defect analysis and resolution2+ years of experience preferredSupervise highly diversified journey work and formulate new approachesFormulate and apply technical practicesEnvironment : General office working conditions, frequent shop exposure, occasional travelExhibit superior safety practices every day evidenced by outstanding housekeeping at all timesExtend treatment to all other associates of the Company as individuals with the courtesy and dignity shown to customersExceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detailExercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating proceduresWhat You'll Do :
Work with production control and other departments to ensure trouble-free and timely start-up of new jobs and engineering changesPrepare documentation of new work and set dates for completion of tooling, sampling, pilot runs, layouts, etc.Track, record and report progressInitiate communication with customers and tooling vendors on status and act as liaison on new job start-up, casting design and cost-reduction proposalsSuggest design changes to enhance value on existing and new designsCollaborate with production and quality control to resolve scrap issues on existing programsCommunicate with Sales Department on product development, tooling designs and new job statusCommunicate required changes to appropriate plant personnelParticipate in the Cost Estimate Requisitions (CER's) process by developing estimates of tooling design, yield, and costWhy You’ll Love Working for Us :
