Position overview : The Vice President of Shared Services will oversee CME’s multidisciplinary technical departments—including surveying, planning, landscape architecture, structural, geotechnical, and engineering—within the Municipal and County markets. This leadership role is responsible for the overall performance, production, and delivery of services across these groups, ensuring operational excellence and collaboration statewide. The VP will manage and coordinate teams across New Jersey to strengthen shared services, drive growth, and enhance the company’s integrated service delivery.

Responsibilities
- Resource Planning : Coordinate personnel to achieve operational and business objectives, leverage Trilon workshare, drive growth with new and existing clients, and manage team resources.
- Hiring and staffing : Drive hiring goals across the business unit to meet yearly targets and ensure backlog supports staff and growth plans.
- Forecasting and production : Proactively forecast and resolve lulls in business to meet operational and production goals; coordinate with other units for resource allocation.
- Collaboration : Ensure CME units share resources and expertise, fostering a one CME culture; ensure client satisfaction and high-quality service; hold Project and Program managers accountable to contracts and intervene to prevent delays or scope creep.
- Financial performance : Lead the groups to meet financial metrics; review and mitigate project write-offs (≥$10,000).
- Operational performance : Ensure project schedules are maintained; hold staff to performance goals; review backlog and utilization; enforce budget adherence; minimize non-billable payroll time; implement corrective actions for operational excellence.
- Business development : Develop a 3-year strategic roadmap; implement firm-wide business development policies; report marketing status to the Executive team; develop promotional programs and identify potential clients; monitor client complaints and take corrective action as needed.
- People and culture : Manage performance, support career development, drive HR-aligned performance processes, lead hiring initiatives, and uphold a collaborative, safe working environment measured by eNPS.
- Time allocation (personal allocation of time) : Billable time 75% (proposal work, project reviews, coordination); Business development 15% (political events, trade shows, coordination); Business operations 10% (general management).
Qualifications
15 years’ experience in managing people and engineering projects.Demonstrated ability to manage a minimum of 30 people and 30+ projects simultaneously.Ability to negotiate and develop effective, profitable client relationships.B.S. in engineering, surveying, planning, certified landscape architect, or equivalent specialty.Licensed engineer, LSRP, surveyor, planner, certified landscape architect, or equivalent.Benefits
