Assist to manage and supervise up to 80 associates in the Fresh Foods Department. Is responsible for assisting the Department Manager with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Harris Teeter's policies and standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in performing duties of baker / fryer, cake decorator, Fresh Foods clerks; chef.
- Interview and train associates, plan, assign, and direct work.
- Appraise performance, reward and discipline associates.
- Address complaints and resolve problems.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; 1‑3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.Commitment to customer service, excellent communication, interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks.Knowledge of HT Internet software, e‑mail, inventory, spreadsheet, Word processing.Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs, stand / walk all day, handle food prep.Knowledge of safety, food safety, and department manager training.Other Requirements
Language : proficient in English written & spoken.Computer : HT Internet software, e‑mail, inventory, spreadsheet, Word processing.Mathematical : basic arithmetic and measurements.Reasoning : common sense understanding to carry out instructions.Physical Demands
Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, reach with hands and arms; lift and / or move up to 40 lbs; occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
Work Environment
Exposed to wet / humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, extreme cold, and moderate noise.
