Director, Sponsored Research Development
The University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy, Dean's Administration is currently seeking a Director, Sponsored Research Development for a School in the Office of Research Administration to manage the financial and administrative aspects of grant and contract proposal submissions. The ideal candidate will work closely with faculty and researchers to ensure compliance with funding agency guidelines, manage proposal development, and provide strategic guidance throughout the proposal submission process. Function as a liaison between principal investigators (PIs), central administration, and funding agencies, the director will oversee complex, multi-investigator grants. The role also involves providing strategic guidance to departments, institutes, centers, and project PIs on research administration and compliance matters. The selected candidate will manage a wide range of finance and administrative functions in the area of research development for the School. Acts as an adviser to the senior management and manages a team of pre-award research staff.

PRIMARY DUTIES :
EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree. Master's degree or PhD preferred.
EXPERIENCE : Seven (7) years of progressively building a research background in various departmental functions including managing administrative and financial operations.
SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE : Two (2) years of experience at management / leadership level.
CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE : Clinical Research Associate (CRA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
OTHER : Financial disclosure reporting required by State of Maryland Ethic Commission. Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and / or experience is required only directly related education and / or experience may be substituted.

HIRING RANGE : $125,000 - $135,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
