ONWARD SEARCH is hiring : Gaming / VR Storyboard Artist in Seattle

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands.

We’re looking to hire a Gaming / VR Storyboard Artist for our client, a major technology company transforming public safety. This is a remote, full-time contract opportunity based in Seattle, Washington, starting by November 2025. The assignment is expected to last 2 months, with the possibility of extension to 3 months, depending on project needs.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a Game Designer and VR Art Director to visualize immersive, narrative-driven experiences through expressive storyboards and animatics. You’ll help bring innovative VR concepts to life with strong visual storytelling and creative collaboration.

There is no application deadline for this role.

Gaming / VR Storyboard Artist Responsibilities :

Create clear, engaging storyboards for VR experiences, focusing on strong posing, composition, and cinematic flow.

Develop animatics using Adobe After Effects to visualize timing and sequence.

Collaborate with Game Designers and Creative Leads to explore narrative and gameplay moments.

Provide quick iteration and visual ideation based on creative feedback.

Support world-building with concept art (2D and / or 3D, if applicable).

Gaming / VR Storyboard Artist Qualifications :

Excellent drawing skills with an emphasis on gesture, posing, and visual storytelling.

Reliable, motivated self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and deliver on tasks with accountability.

Proficiency in creating animatics using After Effects.

Experience working in cross-functional creative teams.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Portfolio required.

Must be available to work in the Pacific Time Zone.

Background in Concept Art (2D and / or 3D) (preferred).

Previous experience with immersive media, games, or interactive storytelling (preferred).

Mid-level professional experience.
