Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind one of the world’s largest cloud infrastructures, responsible for powering all Microsoft online Products and Services as well as powering Microsoft’s Cloud First mission.

We are looking for a Director Project Controls to join the team.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years related experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and / or cross-team projects (cost, planning, estimating, or commercial).
  • 5+ years field / construction experience.

Other Requirements :

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings : Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 15+ years experience in engineering, product / technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • 10+ years experience managing cross-functional and / or cross-team projects (cost, planning, estimating, or commercial).
  • A great understanding of the datacenter design build.
  • Analytical capability to identify opportunities to optimize the cost and schedule.
  • Collaborative leadership approach.
  • Effective communication with leadership
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and exhibits agility
  • Team builder with ability to coach and mentor others
  • Growth mindset to promote scalability and efficiency.
  • Execution experience with proven track record : Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight of the project controls team scope

Construction Project Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $266,800 per year.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $292,200 per year.

The Director Project Controls will concentrate on strategic & innovative projects, consistency across project controls around the globe.

This is a large-scale, fast paced program and the scope includes full engineering, procurement, construction, fit out, and commissioning.

The Director Project Controls will work closely with all stakeholders to support the business review cadence and report project performance against the approved plan and guide functional initiatives.

This role will be instrumental in providing an early indication of portfolio project performance and driving predictability in project results.

The Director Project Controls will report directly to the General Manager of Project Controls.
