Overview
MLS is seeking an attorney to develop, implement and manage player safeguarding policies and processes for MLS, MLS NEXT PRO and MLS NEXT. The role includes reviewing, revising and updating player safeguarding policies, training programs and reporting guidelines. In addition, the attorney may assist with other compliance matters, including investigations and supporting MLS’s compliance function.
Responsibilities
- Review and manage programs relating to MLS player safety, including policy development, training and education, and response and resolution to ensure league-wide compliance with safeguarding policies.
- Develop training and education programs for players, coaches, referees, and other participants in the sport.
- Conduct due diligence and research. Manage intake of allegations of policy violations and conduct investigations, where appropriate.
- Prepare and develop annual surveys and reports and liaise with USSF’s Player Safety Office.
- Provide guidance and support relating to compliance best practices and regulatory considerations.

Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree3+ years of legal practice, with a strong preference for experience relating to investigations and compliance.Training in trauma-informed investigations preferredRequired Skills

Starting Base Salary $130,000 - $150,000. MLS / SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
