Job Description
The Mechanic Shop Helper comes with little to no mechanical knowledge. This position would be considered entry level and would require supervision and primarily work on basic tasks. Learning preventative maintenance as supervisors see fit.

Minimum Qualifications :
- General knowledge of cleaning standards utilizing tools such as brooms, shovels, rakes, etc.
- Basic safety concerns and ability to learn safely working in a shop environment and around different types of tools and equipment
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including but not limited to standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely drive service vehicle and vehicles in and out of service area
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, & background check
Responsibilities and Duties :
Moving and sorting parts in the shop.Transporting parts between shops and picking up and delivering parts throughout Eastern Ohio.Ability to drive a pickup truck in all forms of Ohio weather.Sweeping shop, sidewalks, and wash bay.Shoveling sidewalks when needed.Clean out wash bays.General cleaning and maintaining work environment in the shop or other areas as assigned.Performs repairs and is assigned primarily to preventative maintenance services.Conducts safety checks on vehicles.Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair time.Assists senior mechanics or supervisors in the completion or project work.Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.In order to progress to next level must be proficient with all levels under D mechanic classification.Demonstrates a good work ethic and attitude.Accurately and timely completes all paperwork.Regular attendance consistent with the Company Attendance Policy.
