Manufacturing Engineer Co-op

This position is for an Manufacturing Engineer Co-op on the Site Project Team at the Cedar Rapids, IA facility where you will become familiar with Collins Aerospace manufacturing objectives, along with advanced manufacturing techniques by working closely with senior engineers on automation and process improvement projects for cost reduction. Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May / June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do :

• Assist senior Engineers in a manufacturing environment in these primary areas :
• Automation / robotics / optical inspection
• Process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA)
• Help plan sequence of operations and specification procedures for advanced manufacturing equipment and other processes that affect manufacturing performance and address safety concerns
• Collaborate in compiling information on cell performance and productivity so that manufacturing performance can be analyzed
