Job Summary
The GateWay Counseling Department and Student Success Center seeks an enthusiastic individual who can multitask and thrive in a busy and visible front desk position, while also providing clerical and technical support to the college social worker and counselors.
Greeting and screening all school visitors. General administrative tasks including answering phones, sorting mail, maintaining office supply inventory, data entry, and other tasks / duties as assigned.
Provide administrative support for college counselors including scheduling appointments, managing college representative visits, updating and maintaining internal databases.
Organizing and maintaining the college counseling resources. Fulfilling other duties and projects, including proofread and preparing materials for school events, as determined by the administrative team and peer mentoring duties as assigned.
Computer competence and skills required.

In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements.

- FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
- FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
- FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
- The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be a GateWay Community College student registered for 6 or more credit hours and received financial aid eligibility.

- Strong organization skills and an attention to detail, along with professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidential information with sensitivity and discretion
- The ideal candidate will be friendly, possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal courteously and easily with parents, students, college representatives, faculty, staff and visitors
- Computer competence and skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the capacity and enthusiasm to learn school-specific data systems like SIS, HCM, and appointment
