The Cliffs Notes

The Quality Assurance (QA) role is the role responsible for guaranteeing a level of quality for the end client and helping the software development team identify problems early in the process. This document outlines the responsibilities and requirements of a Senior QA Analyst at Kinective.

What you’ll own :

  • Review and analyze system specifications.
  • Proficiency in analyzing business, technical, and functional needs, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with QA Leads, BA’s, Developers, and other team members to develop effective test strategies and test scenarios.
  • Apply critical thinking and analysis skills to determine security risks to data, hardware, and software.
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications to develop detailed test cases with reference to requirements and JIRA defects.
  • Identify manual test cases for automation and provide recommendations.
  • Partner with QA engineers to drive QA efforts.
  • Execute test cases (manual and automated) and analyze results.
  • Review test procedures and develop manual and automation of test scripts as needed.
  • Own reported bugs and errors; collaborate with development teams, escalate as required for timely project completion as part of agile process.
  • Review assigned issues; identify, group, and prioritize issues to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Effectively utilize multiple environments to execute test cases for increased productivity.
  • Track defects and help replicate issues and troubleshoot errors; present viable solutions as problems arise.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Actively participate in the Scrum / Agile process and provide supporting documentation as required.

  • Requirements :

    Necessary Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role.
  • Understanding SDLC, STLC and QA methodology.
  • Understanding business processes and project management practices is important.
  • Understanding the workings of Scrum and Agile principles.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and the ability to propose viable solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Azure or AWS, Active Directory, Webserver (IIS), SQL and API.
  • Experience with QA Automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, and Postman is a plus.
  • The ability to write code in languages like Java, java script or python is a plus.

    The Team

    In this role, you would be a part of the Quality Assurance Team and reporting to Team Lead, Quality Assurance.

    Office Expectation

    This role is HYBRID, with an expectation of 3-4 days a week in-office. Our hours are 8-5pm.

    Compensation Range

    $55,000 – $80,000

    The base salary range for this role is shown above at the minimum, midpoint, and maximum. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the maximum of the range. At Kinective, base pay depends on multiple individualized factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, job-related knowledge and skills, and geographic location. Compensation also reflects internal equity to ensure fairness across similar roles.

    Base pay is just one part of Kinective’s Total Rewards package. Depending on the role, successful candidates may also be eligible to participate in our discretionary bonus plan, commission program, or equity offerings.
