Production Manager

Job Title : Production Manager - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to oversee the production operations at our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Irwindale, CA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the production process, ensuring product quality, and optimizing efficiency while maintaining compliance with cGMP regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day production operations to meet production targets and deadlines, ensuring maximum output, efficiency, and quality.
• Develop and implement production strategies, schedules, and processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness, utilizing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other best practices.
• Ensure strict compliance with cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and safety protocols.
• Manage, motivate, and lead a team of production supervisors, operators, technicians, and other personnel, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Research & Development, and Maintenance, to resolve production issues, improve processes, and ensure product consistency and safety.
• Monitor and analyze production metrics, such as throughput, efficiency, waste, and costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions through root cause analysis and preventive measures.
• Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials, components, work-in-progress, and finished products to optimize production, minimize waste, and meet customer demand.
• Prepare and present regular production reports to senior management and other stakeholders, communicating performance, issues, and improvement initiatives.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, employee development, and safety, while managing relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality materials and supplies.
• Develop and manage production budgets, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
• Participate in the development and launch of new products, including the establishment of production processes, equipment requirements, and quality standards.
• Manage the hiring, performance evaluation, and disciplinary action of production staff.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing / Industrial / Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or food manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of GMP regulations, FDA guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Proven track record of leading and managing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in using manufacturing software systems, such as MES and ERP.
• Bilingual is preferred.
