Job Title : Senior Benefits Analyst
Job Summary
Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is seeking a Senior Benefits Analyst to lead the design, administration, compliance, and analysis of U.S. employee benefit programs. This role ensures our benefits offerings—including health and welfare plans, retirement plans, and leave programs—are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with company strategy, while maintaining full compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Plan Administration
- Oversee daily operations of health, welfare, and retirement plans (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), etc.).
- Act as the primary liaison with vendors and third-party administrators to resolve issues and ensure high-quality service.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and other relevant laws and regulations.Prepare and review required filings (e.g., Form 5500) and support audit processes.Employee Support
Provide expert guidance to employees on benefits programs, policies, and procedures.Develop and deliver communication materials for annual enrollment and ongoing education.Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze benefits utilization, costs, and trends; recommend plan design changes to optimize cost and employee experience.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for leadership.Vendor Management
Monitor vendor performance and service-level agreements.Participate in vendor selection and renewal processes.Projects & Process Improvement
Lead or support benefits-related projects, including system implementations and process enhancements.Stay informed on industry trends and legislative changes impacting benefits.Additional Qualifications
Passion for employee well-being and engagement.Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms (e.g., SAP).Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.Experience
5+ years of experience in U.S. benefits administration and compliance.Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and retirement plan regulations.Skills
Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.Certifications
CEBS or other benefits-related certification preferred.Physical Requirements
Typical office environment including reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
