Site Safety Manager (CSP Required / Equivalent Preferred)
Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Site Safety Manager to oversee and ensure safety across active construction sites. This role is heavily field based, focusing on daily site presence, direct engagement with crews, and proactive hazard recognition. The Site Safety Manager ensures OSHA compliance, promotes a culture of safety, and serves as the visible safety leader on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Spend the majority of time in the field, actively monitoring construction activities.
- Conduct daily site walkthroughs, hazard assessments, and safety observations.
- Lead and participate in toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and crew huddles.
- Identify unsafe behaviors or conditions and immediately implement corrective actions.
- Serve as the on-site safety resource for workers, subcontractors, and supervisors.
- Coach and mentor crews to build a strong safety culture.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts—leading root cause analysis and corrective follow-up.
- Ensure workers use PPE correctly and follow fall protection, confined space, lockout / tagout, and other high-risk safety procedures.
- Support emergency response and drills in the field.
- Partner with project management to integrate safety into daily operations.
Qualifications
Certification : Certified Safety Professional (CSP) required / preferred; CHST, ASP, or other BCSP credentials considered.Experience : 5+ years in construction safety management with strong field presence.Knowledge : OSHA 1926 standards, high-hazard construction activities, and best practices in risk mitigation.Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to engage directly with field crews.Physically able to walk job sites, climb ladders, and be present in varying weather and site conditions.First Aid / CPR certification preferred.
