Job Title : District Health Specialist

Job Summary :
The District Health Specialist serves as the primary resource for campus medical aides across SST Schools, providing guidance, answering health-related questions, and ensuring compliance with all district and state health policies. This role supports the coordination, collection, and submission of required health documentation and data to maintain regulatory standards and promote student health and safety.
Key Responsibilities :
Act as the first point of contact for campus medical aides regarding health procedures, medication administration, and student care questions.
Provide training, support, and ongoing guidance to campus medical aides to ensure adherence to health protocols and best practices.
Monitor and ensure timely and accurate submission of all required health documentation, including immunization records, screenings, medication logs, and health plans.
Collaborate with campus staff, district administration, and external health agencies to support student health services and compliance.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Texas state health regulations, district policies, and public health guidelines impacting school health services.
Assist in the implementation of health programs, screenings, and initiatives to promote student wellness.
Support data collection and reporting requirements related to student health and safety for district records and state reporting.
Participate in district health meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive health information in compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and district policies.
Qualifications :
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health sciences, or related field preferred.
RN or LVN certification preferred.
Experience working in school health services, public health, or related field strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Texas education and health regulations related to student health services.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and support.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple campuses.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data management systems.
