Description :

This is an RN shift manager position.

Candidates must have experience as an RN shift manager.

The RN shift manager will take patient assignments.

A resource nurse will assist with tasks and breaks.

The unit has 31 beds.

The nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 5 for MedSurg patients.

Common diagnoses and types of patients include general MedSurg conditions such as gynecological, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, some spine surgeries, total hip and knee replacements, urology surgeries, and colectomy.

Critical patients requiring Bipap will be transferred to another unit.

There are no tele monitors in this unit, and RNs are not required to read their own strips.

If the census increases, there will be one aide available.

Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Travelers will be the first to float if necessary.

The required scrub color is navy blue.

If an undershirt is worn, it must be navy, white, or black.

A navy scrub jacket is also required if worn.

Hoodies, sweatshirts, and sweat jackets are not permitted.

The hospital can cancel up to four shifts during the 13-week assignment.

Charting will be done using Cerner.
