Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Summary : This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Magnet Program Director is responsible for oversight of the Magnet Program and implementation of creative systems, processes, clinical practices that improve patient care delivery. Responsible for assuring the Magnet framework and essential domains are enculturated and hardwired into the organization through coordination, education and consultation with Leadership. Leads education for staff and Magnet Champions on key initiatives and Magnet principles. Conducts gap analysis for evidence of the Magnet Model components and works closely with leadership to formulate plans to close the gaps in performance. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements :
Licensure / Certification / Registration : Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license
Education : Master's Degree required.
Experience : Five years' experience in healthcare required. Experience in Magnet Project Director / document preparation strongly preferred.
Special Qualifications : Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the practice of nursing. Has good organizational skills, ability to plan, organize and implement educational program and projects to nursing and non-nursing. Proficiency in group presentation with effective communication skills; proven mentoring / teaching abilities; ability to develop programs that fit strategically with hospital goals. Demonstrates knowledge and competence in working with interdisciplinary teams to ensure completion of projects. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in computer skills, critical thinking skills and presentation skills highly recommended.
