Position Summary : The Assistant Controller will serve as a key leader within the Finance organization, reporting to the Controller, VP Finance. The Asst Controller will be expected to be the right hand to the Controller, VP Finance and to take ownership of the company's accounting operations and to ensure the delivery of timely, accurate, and compliant financial information. This role will be hands-on in managing the monthly and annual close processes, supporting yearly external audits, and ensuring adherence to GAAP and internal control standards. The Assistant Controller will be a trusted partner to the Controller, VP Finance, providing insight, driving process efficiencies, and implementing best practices to support our continued growth and operational excellence. This position requires a proven leader who can effectively manage and mentor a team, foster a high-performance culture, and confidently navigate complex accounting matters. The ideal candidate will have deep technical accounting expertise, strong NetSuite experience, and a track record of successfully leading close and audit cycles in fast-paced, evolving environments. Prior experience in an audit firm is highly valued, as it will enable this leader to bring a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to compliance, reporting, and process improvement. The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in scaling the accounting function, documenting processes, improving systems and workflows, and building the financial infrastructure needed to support both current operations and future growth. ANNUAL SALARY : $150,000-$160,000 Key Responsibilities : Lead and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to GAAP. Oversee and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development. Support the audit process from start to finish, serving as the primary support for the Controller, VP Finance with external auditors and ensuring all schedules and supporting documentation are prepared accurately and on time. Leverage NetSuite expertise to optimize workflows, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance system utilization across the accounting function. Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses prepared by the team. With the Controller, VP of Finance, own the accuracy of the general ledger and ensure appropriate classification of transactions. Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Partner with FP&A, operations, and other departments to ensure accurate financial data and provide insights for decision-making. Drive process improvement initiatives, including automation, system enhancements, and streamlined reporting tools to improve efficiency. Monitor and analyze accounting processes, recommending policy or procedural changes when needed. Serve as a key financial liaison for internal stakeholders, translating complex accounting matters into clear, actionable information for leadership. Qualifications : Education & Certification : CPA required. Experience : 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Required - Strong NetSuite expertise with a proven track record of optimizing system capabilities. Required - Demonstrated experience running and leading a close process within a set timetable. Prior audit firm experience (public accounting background preferred). In-depth knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
