This position is a hybrid role which requires the employee to work in the DEARBORN, MICHIGAN office every Tuesday and Wednesday.

Job Summary

The Developer will provide expertise in a wide range of technical areas including software design, code development, and application of new technologies and languages which are aligned with other FordDirect internal projects.

This is a hands-on development role that will work closely with internal teams assuring timely delivery for assigned projects.

The ideal candidate is a Java developer with front and back-end development experience in all aspects of websites, databases, process automation, and API development / integration.

Additionally, experience with Advertising Technology (AdTech) and social commerce data integrations involving Google, Facebook, Instagram, Bing, Bing Maps, Apple Maps, and other top platforms is preferred.

Essential Functions REPORTS TO PAT FINDLAY

• Develop software applications, coordinating deployments and code repositories.
• Write code and integrate with multiple applications using development methodologies and standard architectural patterns, considering critical performance characteristics and security measures.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and other Developers to deliver business value as assigned.
• Write / perform unit testing and compile builds.
• Help with defining steps for behavior-driven development scenarios.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality in a dynamic environment utilizing current versioning tools and techniques.
• Work with security and privacy teams to implement all required data protection and security standards.
• Diagnose and solve technical problems and escalated issues related to assigned applications.
• Create and maintain documentation to support applications builds, maintenance and best practices
• Work with senior developers to gain understanding of more advanced projects and capabilities.
• Coordinate with a global team (US and offshore) on technical development if needed.

Experience

• Software design and development experience (3+ years).
• Web Services integration experience.
• Rapid development environment working with Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies (3+ years).
• JIRA and WIKI experience a plus.
• Debugging techniques in interconnected environments.
• Microsoft Azure hosted environment experience.
• AdTech experience preferred.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, and similar technologies.
• AngularJS, React, Node.js, MongoDB, MySQL, SQL server.
• Azure Cloud, Google Cloud Services, Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps.
• Understanding of how to use tools like Jenkins, Maven, and Git (version management)
• Proactively problem-solve and multitask while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
• Follow-through mindset to uphold a 'close the loop' culture.
• Ability to demonstrate good judgment, high ethics, and project a professional image.
• Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member with a positive 'can do' attitude.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), especially with Excel for non-financial data manipulation and visualization.

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of work experience and education
