Job Description :
Morgan Stanley is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer with deep expertise in IPv6 design and deployment to join its Global Network Architecture team . This role will lead the firm's first IPv6 Proof of Concept (PoC) and drive its integration into the production environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco (NXOS, IOSXE, IOSXR) , Arista , and public cloud networking , along with strong collaboration and documentation skills.
Responsibilities :
Lead the design, planning, and implementation of the firm's first IPv6 PoC and production rolloutDefine and document IPv6 addressing strategies, routing protocols, and transition techniquesCollaborate with cross-functional teams (security, cloud, platform testing) to validate IPv6 design decisionsProvide subject matter expertise on IPv6 across enterprise and public cloud environmentsConfigure, test, and troubleshoot Cisco and Arista network infrastructure for IPv6 functionalityDevelop runbooks, SOPs, and training materials for team readinessEnsure IPv6 solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirementsStay current on IPv6 standards, best practices, and industry trendsAct as a technical leader and mentor to junior engineersRequired Skills :
5 6 years of experience in network engineering (routing / switching)Proven experience in IPv6 design, deployment, and troubleshootingHands-on expertise with Cisco IOSXE, NX-OS, IOSXR and Arista EOSStrong understanding of routing protocols : MP-BGP, OSPFv3, VXLAN EVPNFamiliarity with IPv6 transition technologies : dual-stack, tunneling, NAT64Experience with public cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including IPv6 servicesExcellent communication and documentation skillsAbility to lead projects and drive technical initiatives independentlyPreferred Qualifications :
Experience in large-scale financial enterprise or service provider networksFamiliarity with network automation tools : Python, Ansible, TerraformKnowledge of IPv6-related security best practicesRelevant certifications : CCNP / CCIE, Arista ACE, AWS / Azure / GCP Networking Specialty
