Job Title : UI / UX Web Designer

Job Type : Contract- Full Time

Job Schedule : Mon-Fri 40-hours / week

This role will be an ON-SITE position.

Job Location : Downtown Houston, TX

Interested candidates MUST live in the HOUSTON area.

Hourly Pay : $25-$35 / hour

Depending on experience.

Position Overview :

We are seeking a skilled UI / UX Web Designer to support the enhancement of our digital platforms, including our public-facing website and internal intranet. This role will focus on improving user experience, accessibility, and design consistency across platforms. Experience working in the public sector or government environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities :

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand user needs and translate them into intuitive design solutions.

Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions.

Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for website and intranet updates.

Ensure designs align with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and government digital service guidelines.

Provide guidance on UX best practices and contribute to the development of design systems.

Work closely with developers and content teams to implement and refine designs.

Identify opportunities to reinforce and streamline digital platform functionality.

Requirements

Qualifications :

A Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.

Proven experience in UI / UX design, preferably in public sector or government settings.

Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar.

Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and user-centered design principles.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience :

Familiarity with government websites, intranet systems, and digital transformation initiatives.

Experience working with cross-functional teams in a structured environment.

Knowledge of HTML / CSS and CMS platforms is a plus.
