Business Development And Capture Manager
Hive Group is a rapidly growing professional services firm working in the federal procurement space. We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team to lead our business development and capture management process initially focused on growth at Civilian agencies with future expansion in Defense and Intelligence agencies. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved on the ground floor of a rapidly growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Hubzone certified!
Candidates are required to reside within the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This is a hybrid position, and candidates must be available to report to the main office as needed.
Job Responsibilities
The BD / Capture Manager will focus on the full range of activities from opportunity identification and qualification through proposal and transition support. The candidate will report to the Vice President of Business Development and will work closely with the delivery organization with the execution of the account growth strategy.
Responsibilities include :
- Work closely with senior leaders to identify, refine, and execute growth strategies
- Achieve yearly sales (Total Contract Value) targets and build a forward-leaning opportunity pipeline focused on small business opportunities and large business partnerships
- Prepare, present, and mature opportunities through defined Opportunity Maturation process as defined in the BD / Capture Playbook
- Identify potential opportunities, arrange meetings, initiate marketing strategies, build and strengthen company relationships
- Develop and execute effective call plans for meetings with target clients, program managers, and industry partners
- Support outreach to defense and civilian agencies, including assistance with building new partnerships and communication strategies; developing methods to expand customer base; and developing strategies to help ensure consistent, efficient, and effective solutions
- Assist in the development of successful pricing strategies, identifying risks, and interpreting solicitation requirements with delivery staff, SMEs and proposal managers on win themes
- Interface and manage teaming partners for existing relationship as well as developing potential future partners for upcoming opportunities
- Meet or exceed established performance goals in support of overall corporate growth and success
- Engage with industry associations and attend industry events as needed or requested
- Assist with proposal development up to and including writing, solutioning and color reviews
Qualifications
Qualifications include :
Bachelors degree and minimum 10 years experience supporting federal business growth efforts including business development, capture management and proposal development with proven experience in :Early-Phase Capture & Opportunity ShapingTeaming Strategy DevelopmentStrategic Account PlanningCompetitive IntelligenceMarket AnalysisExperience identifying, qualifying and winning proposals in the Defense and Federal Civilian markets.Strong understanding of federal acquisition, contract, financial management and program management organization (PMO) lifecyclesKnowledge of current and future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information that may impact corporate business performance within the civilian marketExcellent writing and interpersonal skillsMature and active network of contacts relevant to the market and the contractor industry that supports and operates within those marketsProven experience building and leading proposal teamsExperience growing and transitioning from a small business to a large business is a plusA commitment to equal opportunity
