Position Summary :

The Barista is responsible for fulfilling orders and completing sales transactions within the Pete’s Market café and performing other support functions which may include cleaning the food preparation, customer seating or stock areas, and maintaining inventory. Demonstrates Pete’s Market Four Pillars : Value, Aesthetic, Quality, and Service.

Essential Functions and Duties :

• Possess the essential skills, knowledge, and training necessary to appropriately brew espresso and coffee beverages for customers.
• Exhibit teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience, and respect in all customer interactions and by thanking customers for their business.
• Greet customers in a genuine and friendly manner throughout the store and assist them by escorting them to products, loading / unloading heavy items and helping them to retrieve out of reach items.
• Effectively communicate with customers and respond to questions and requests in a timely manner.
• Properly operate equipment and wear proper personal protective equipment (e.g., coffee maker, espresso machine, steamer, chemical resistant gloves, and splash goggles) according to company guidelines
• Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, quality, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follows and complies with established procedures.
• Ensure that beverages are made at proper temperatures and all equipment adheres to sanitation regulations.
• Must possess creativity, organizational ability, and a good deal of energy
• Be able to make any kind of coffee drink (espresso, cappuccino, latte, Americano, etc.).
• Ability to follow a production schedule and to prioritize tasks
• Ability to take direction and follow recipes
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
• Maintain high cleanliness standards; clean as you go, inclusive of washing, cleaning, sweeping, mopping.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines; comply with and reinforce all food safety and safety regulations / guidelines / procedures and programs; report all issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Assist general team members as needed.
