ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Plan and direct the activities of a functional operating area at Midway Airport.Oversee and coordinate the work of area supervisors to ensure conformance to established schedules, governmental regulations and department policies.Review and evaluate the work performance of supervisory personnel, recommending disciplinary action when needed.Coordinate and participate in human resources activities (e.g., interviewing, employee relations).Direct and monitor training programs for subordinate staff to ensure adherence with regulations and department work requirements.Establish and maintain operational budgets for assigned areas. Develop and implement procedures to track budget expenditures and prepare financial reports.Review work summaries submitted by supervisory staff and generate comprehensive activity reports.Serve as liaison with airport tenants and concessionaires and respond to inquiries regarding the status of repair and maintenance issues.Represent the Department at meetings with federal, state, and local agencies.Perform other job-related duties as required.LOCATION & SCHEDULE
Midway Airport, 6201 S. Laramie, Chicago
Days : Monday - Friday
Hours : 8 : 30 AM – 4 : 30 PM
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a directly related field, PLUS seven (7) years of airport or airfield operations work experience, of which three (3) years are supervisory.Graduation with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a directly related field, PLUS five (5) years of airport or airfield operations work experience, of which three (3) years are supervisory.Graduation with a Master's degree or higher in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a directly related field, PLUS four (4) years of airport or airfield operations work experience, of which three (3) years are supervisory.LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Valid State of Illinois driver's license is required.Must obtain airfield certification within 6 months of hire.Must pass a Ground Motor Vehicle Operating Basic Driving test (Yellow Stripe) administered by the Chicago Department of Aviation within 6 months of hire.APPLYING
