Architectural Specification Consultant - Precast Wall Systems Location : Pomona, CA (Onsite Only - No Remote or Hybrid) Salary : $70,000 - $85,000 (Base Salary, No Commission) Employment Type : Full-Time - Office + Local Field Travel About the Role APC is seeking an Architectural Specification Consultant to serve as a technical resource and design-phase influencer for architects, landscape architects, and engineers. Your mission is to educate, influence, and guide specifications - ensuring APC's precast wall systems are written into design documents before projects reach the bid phase. You are not closing contracts. You are not estimating. You are driving design-stage adoption. This role is ideal for someone who understands constructiongrade materials, enjoys technical presentations, and is comfortable engaging directly with design professionals. Key Responsibilities Design Outreach & Relationship Building Proactively contact architectural, engineering, and landscape firms Develop strong relationships with specifiers and design influencers Conduct structured outbound calls, emails, and AEC networking Product Education & Technical Advocacy Deliver Lunch & Learns and CEU-style presentations Educate design teams on precast performance, aesthetics, and efficiencies Provide layout, detailing, and technical integration support Specification Influence Ensure systems are written into drawings, specs, and project manuals Track and promote "precast in lieu of" alternates Support firms through concept, SD, and DD phases Review design sets for accuracy, constructability, and compatibility Pipeline Tracking & Collaboration Log activity and influence milestones in HubSpot CRM Track design-stage projects from concept to pre-bid Coordinate with internal teams as projects move toward estimating Industry Engagement Attend AIA, ASLA, CSI, and other AEC-focused events and conferences Represent APC professionally in design and technical education environments Help position APC as the preferred precast system provider in California Ideal Candidate Profile You will thrive in this role if you : Speak the language of architects and engineers Enjoy education and technical communication Are confident with outbound outreach Can read and interpret drawings and site plans Want to influence design-not chase bids Are motivated by visible impact, not commission Required Qualifications 3+ years in architectural product sales, construction materials, or AEC business development Experience reading architectural drawings or plans Strong verbal and visual presentation skills CRM experience (HubSpot preferred) Strong follow-through, documentation, and outreach habits Preferred Background Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related Experience influencing specifications and design adoption Familiarity with precast, modular systems, masonry, fencing, or retaining walls Knowledge of AIA, CSI, ASLA, and spec writing formats Performance Indicators Success is measured by : AEC firms contacted and engaged Increase in APC product specifications Number of CEUs / Lunch & Learns delivered Projects moved into estimating Growth in design-phase pipeline activity Compensation & Benefits $70,000 - $85,000 annual base salary Travel and presentation expenses reimbursed Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid holidays, paid vacation, and paid sick time Employment Type : Full Time Years Experience : 3 - 5 years Salary : $70,000 - $78,000 Annual Bonus / Commission : No
