This position will be the Branch Manager for both our Harrisonburg and Roanoke locations.
Position Summary
Provide branch team with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to deliver excellent customer service and increase the account base in accordance with Virginia Green policies and procedures. This position has responsibility and is measured on the production, financial performance, customer retention, safety metrics, and employee retention of the branch.
Primary Responsibilities- General
- Achieve monthly and annual revenue goals.
- Manage expenses in all categories of the P&L
- Ensure that revenue pacing to the agronomic calendar occurs throughout the year
- Provide input on the branch budget and reprojections. Properly pace revenue in the documents to ensure success and completion of work
- Manage and retain a cohesive branch team focused on performance, excellent customer service and teamwork.
- Ensure the branch is a safe, positive environment cultivating teamwork and leads to long term employee retention
- Utilize various company web management platforms and information systems
- Conduct weekly meetings with the Service Leaders to inform them of needs, policies, changes, etc. and provide training. These need a documented agenda with signed attendance roster.
- Conduct monthly branch meetings to inform the team of branch progress, company priorities, current and upcoming services. The manager facilitates updates from each department within the branch at these meetings as well as any presentations from corporate.
- Inspect branch cleanliness, safety compliance, First Aid, OSHA compliance and take appropriate action to address any issues
- Manage the daily workload and responsibilities of the Branch Administrator
- Any other items needed by the Branch
Primary Responsibilities- Service Delivery
Provide initial and ongoing training to service leaders in the following areas : Agronomic, Application, Calibration, Pesticide certification, Vehicle operation and safety, Routing, Communication, Mobile LiveSchedule / manage field visit requirements determined during office shifts, follow up with customer within 48 hours to let them know how their request will be handled; Delegate the request to a route Service Leader if appropriateDocument all contact with the customer using Virginia Green Lawn Care computerized system (Real Green) to include the following : Original complaint or issue, date and time of initial call, Date and time of any visits or calls, problem, and solutions.All Follow-up with the customer to include dates and times of phone calls, conversations and messages.Ensure route managers provide quality customer service, according to company policies and procedures, through quality control checks. Maintain a log of these observations and make corrections when necessary.Track customer retention, sales, SRQs and customer holds to ensure both quality of service and goals are metAssist company with associate retention with regular TSO visits, meetings and establishing a team focused environmentEnsure service leaders are following appropriate policies and procedures with mobile devices. Both for customer services purposes and for company record keeping.Oversee and inspect quality of applications on Commercial properties in specified regionAssist in the growth and development of route managers to include but not be limited to; additional pesticide certification, promotion, communication skills improvement, and customer service skillsInspect and calibrate equipment to ensure it is in proper working order. Record all checksWork with the routing manager (if you have one) to ensure company and individual goals are being met or exceededCheck product usage of all employees daily by monitoring truck filling and recording usage reportsPeriodic checks of truck GPS records to insure efficiency and correct service addressAssist service managers to ensure timely completion of Service Request and Call LogsProvide field assistance to route managersEnsure trucks are clean, properly filled, tank labeling of pesticides is always current, and technicians are prepared for any switching necessaryResponsible for the completion of work and daily revenue of the route managers within the time parameters and goals set by the operations managerDiagnose / troubleshoot lawn issues based on customer’s descriptions and resolve customer issues using service leaders field notes and personal inspection of lawns.Discuss Virginia Green programs with customers a sell programs to customers as needed to resolve their lawn issues.Primary Responsibilities- Facility
If a facilities tech exists, then you ensure they meet their job requirementsIf no facilities tech exists, oversee fleet maintenance and compliance and manage related software, analytics, and documentation.Oversee and manage preventative maintenance programs for all facilities.Assist with the planning and implementation of an inventory management system and managing related software and analytics.Oversee and manage branch asset inventory.Purchase requisition request approvals.Maintain current SDS documentation.Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes (OSHA, EPA, VDACS).Oversee and coordinate product delivery to include seed, fertilizer, and other chemicals to branches as needed.Conduct and document regular facility building inspections.Assist the Facility Director with benchmarking and KPI's for all locations.Assist the Facility Director with branch asset inventory and management.Assist with facilities related business analyticsAssist with the planning and implementation of an inventory management system and managing related software and analytics.Assist the Facility Director with the annual maintenance of the business continuity plan.Assist with vendor performance reviews and vendor selection process.Coordinate new vehicle set up to include delivery, registration, vehicle wraps, GPS installation, documentation, and vehicle contents.Coordinate larger flatbed deliveries to branches when neededCoordinate new trailer pick up, registration, numbering, and delivery.Assist the Facility Director with aerating and seeding program to include rental vehicles, trailers, ordering, and equipment distribution.If you have DOT oversight as requiredPrimary Responsibilities- Routing

Schedule services to be completed to include service requests and new sales in allotted time frame.Create routes based upon customer density and geographic areaCommunicate with customers as necessary to assist with scheduling or other issuesRemain in contact with route managers throughout the day to help with their needs to include but not be limited to : additional work, customer contact, service area, and other communicationWorks with Branch Management Team and route managers to ensure all services are completed and company production goals are metUtilize Real Green reports and Pro Variance to monitor service availability and holds to make sure sales goals are met.Minimum Physical Requirements

4 Year College Degree preferred, 4 Year degree online or Associates Degree, or commensurate experience in the industryMinimum 3 Years with Virginia Green Lawn Care or Extensive Management ExperienceStrong agronomic background in agriculture, landscaping, turf and / or ornamental carePrevious experience in the lawn care field of 3-5 yearsCommercial pesticide applicators license 3A, 3B, 6, 7a, and 8 (or state equivalent) or the ability to gain those categories in X amount of time. Additionally, the CFA in the state you are working in is required.Valid driver's license in your location state or the ability to gain it within 3 months and Driving record must pass insurabilityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent computer / mobile phone skills and experience with Excel and Word is preferredExcellent organizational skillsMust be 21 years of age or olderRequired to live within 30 miles of the branchVirginia Green is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
