Summary
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all commercial HVAC / R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) systems, as well as essential commercial kitchen equipment . The primary goal is to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and compliance for all mechanical systems in food service environments.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
HVAC / R Service : Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on commercial heating, cooling, ventilation, walk-in coolers, freezers, and ice machines.
Kitchen Equipment Repair : Troubleshoot and fix a wide range of kitchen appliances, including gas and electric ovens, ranges, fryers, griddles, dishwashers, and food prep equipment.
System Diagnostics : Use specialized tools to identify and correct mechanical, electrical, and control faults in both HVAC / R and kitchen equipment.
Compliance & Safety : Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA Section 608 regulations and ensure all work meets local safety and building codes.
Documentation : Maintain accurate service records, track parts usage, and clearly communicate repair status and recommendations to management.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience (e.g., 2+ years) in commercial HVAC / R service and appliance repair.
EPA Section 608 Certification is required.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and refrigeration cycles .
Ability to work with gas and plumbing systems common to kitchen equipment.
Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and ability to be on-call for emergencies.
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varied environments (roofs, confined spaces).
