Provide programming and machining expertise. Program, set-up, and operate
machinery for the fabrication / production of parts. Maintain quality and safety standards;
keep records; maintain equipment and supplies .
Principal Responsibilities :
- Develop CNC programs for mills based on drawings and models
- Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data in order to calculate correct part
dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates
Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. Make mechanical
and / or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality
requirements
Interact with computer-based controllers (conversational and G&M code) to enter
and / or edit job programs and tool selection information
Plan, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, material, and operating
instructions before and while running operations and equipment
Produce and inspect parts against drawings specifications within time allotted;
ensuring product meets specified quality standards
Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and
fixtures and gauges to check work to drawings
Inspect parts against blueprints and specifications; ensuring product meets
specified quality standards
Update related paperwork (work orders and in-process inspection sheets) upon
completion of tasks
Qualifications and Educational Requirements :
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Basic math and trigonometry skills
- Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities
- Proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming
- AS9100 Quality compliance, understanding, and commitment
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of experience
- Experience working with three (3) and five (5) axis equipment machining
aluminum and steel
