Medical Billing and Coding Specialist’s Responsibilities
- Review medical record documentation to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures that require coding.
- Effectively utilize ICD 10, CPT, HPCPS, modifiers, and other codes according to coding guidelines.
- Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure accurate and precise documentation.
Medical Billing and Coding Specialist’s Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of experience with medical claims billing / coding and medical insurance industry is required.
- Essential knowledge in and out of network insurance, Workers' Compensation, insurance verification, patient responsibility, and process for prior authorization is required.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes and procedures is required.
