Reporting directly to the Headof HR the HR & Payroll Assistant will be working with ateam making a positive difference in the lives of the people of ourcommunity.
The candidate will be responsible for maintainingpayroll information by collating calculating and entering data.They also update records with changes in employee details orbenefits and ensure the team s payroll information is up to date atall times.
This position is fullyremote however we are looking for candidates ideallybased in Southern California who would be able to come into the LosAngeles office for occasional team events and meetings.
Overview responsibilities
Compile Turnover Report copy and distribute as needed.
Enter payroll information onPaychex (wage information changes and more).
Payroll data entry and updates to alltrackers for payroll processing.
Labor laws and taxation updates according to employeestate of hire.
Monitor andupdate vacation and sick balance sheets.
Time adjustments for hourly employees.
Assist with maintaining incentive trackersfor staff members
Respond tounemployment claims and maintain unemployment correspondence.
Maintain or create new hiretermination transfer and other roles that may be needed.
Audit hours worked in payrollreports for eligibility of benefits (ESR).
Compile wage information for annual reviews.
Monitor and maintain a Leaveof Absence log.
Monitorworkers compensation claims and complete the first report of injuryand the employers report of industrial injury.
Answer questions regarding 401K Planvacation and benefits (insured and noninsured).
Process paperwork for terminatingemployees.
Schedule and assistin Orientation ensure all paperwork is correct and handouts aregiven.
Attend all meetings andtrainings.
Perform otherduties as requested by management
Requirements
Requirements :
A minimum of 2 years of advancing experience in HumanResources Assistant or Management roles within the HR or Payrolldepartment of a company in the Mental Health sector or a relatedindustry.
Experience in therelated field is preferred.
Ability to work closely with executive staff and directors.
This role will encompass tasksextending beyond your defined field or job functions demonstratingadaptability and willingness to take on diverse responsibilities.
Flexible hours.
aPHR PHR SHRM and PHRCA are a plus but notrequired for this position.
Skills and experience :
Experience with payroll systems.
Skilled in Microsoft Office suiteincluding preparation of Excel spreadsheets.
Strong customer service and organizationskills attention to detail and followthrough to resolve outstandingissues.
Effectivelycommunicates both verbally and in writing with all levels ofemployees and guests in an attentive friendly courteous andserviceoriented manner.
Effective at listening to understanding and clarifying concernsraised by employees.
Able tomultitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Effective in handling problemsincluding anticipating preventing identifying and solving problemsas necessary.
Able tounderstand and evaluate complex information data etc. from varioussources to meet appropriate objectives.
Able to maintain confidentiality of information.
Experience in recruitmentresolution of team member conflicts and familiarity with employmentlaws a plus.
