Contract Analyst / Senior / Lead (Depending on Experience)
General Summary
This position negotiates, analyzes, and processes power, natural gas, financial commodity, renewable energy, and emission allowance contracts through extensive client contact. This position also maintains pertinent Contract Administration reports and the data integrity of the Risk Management Systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will analyze contract language and negotiate energy contracts from start to finish. You will coordinate the contract negotiation with internal groups and external relationships through both written and oral communication. We are looking for an individual who cares about maintaining partnerships and likes examining the details. This is where you come in. You'll be responsible for performing the following responsibilities :
- Negotiates contracts for ACES Clients :
Negotiates power, natural gas, financial, renewable & emission agreements, long-form confirmation letters, amendments and other energy contracts.
Reviews and analyzes existing and new contracts to evaluate contract risk to Clients' trading portfolios.Processes contract documentation.Maintains pertinent Contract Administration reports and the data integrity of the Risk Management System :Maintains current data in the Risk Management System for counterparty and contract information.
Uses established Desk Procedures to provide consistent and accurate data entry in the Risk Management System.Updates the Risk Management System by entering data timely, researching problems, and providing meaningful solutions.Performs assigned daily, weekly, and monthly reviews for contract monitoring.Prepares assigned Contract Administration reports.Serves as a resource for the needs of our external Clients and internal Departments :Interfaces and manages requests and special projects for assigned ACES' Clients and other Departments.
Maintains and coordinates Client weekly, monthly, and / or quarterly status calls and reports.Serves as an active Contract Administration team member :Supports other Department members.
Communicates and brainstorms to solve problems and new issues.Adheres to and is supportive of all ACES corporate policies and complies with all regulatory requirements including but not limited to NERC, FERC and relevant state regulations as applicable to the position.Any additional responsibilities assigned by management.Required Qualifications - Contract Analyst
Bachelor Degree in a related area.1+ years of related work experience preferred (systems, contract review, energy industry).Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong attention to detail.Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Self-motivated, proactive, and organized.Strong critical thinking skills used to analyze and interpret contracts and basic legal language.Initiative to follow-through on projects and duties, and ensure that individual work is completed accurately, timely and efficiently.Work effectively in a service team for multiple clients with differing contract preferences and policies.Required Qualifications - Senior Contract Analyst
Bachelor Degree in a related area.2+ years of experience in energy industry.Understand, assimilate, and communicate information effectively in both oral and written form.Strong attention to detail.Excellent project management skills including managing timelines and multiple tasks simultaneously.Self-motivated, proactive, and organized.Strong critical thinking skills used to analyze and interpret contracts and basic legal language.Initiative to follow-through on projects and duties, and ensure that individual work is completed accurately, timely and efficiently.Solves problems, makes decisions, and prioritizes their resolution.Work effectively in a service team for multiple clients with differing contract preferences and policies.Required Qualifications - Lead Contract Analyst
Bachelor's Degree in a related area (MBA or CPA a plus).3+ years of related work experience in commodity contract negotiation and administration required.Strong verbal and written communications skills.Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Strong aptitude for math and finances.Strong working knowledge of computer / PC and various software.Ability to analyze and interpret contracts.Must be able to effectively follow through with tasks; very detail oriented.Must be a team player.Must be self-motivated and eager to learn new tasks / jobs.Must have the ability to work and think independently.Must be organized and dependable.
