Associate Security Consultant - Entry Level (Buffalo, NY)

In this role you will join IBM Consulting via our world-class Associates Program for university hires. As an Associate Security Consultant you will work with a diverse range of clients worldwide, analyzing existing business and technical requirements to provide holistic security solutions that improve clients' security posture across all phases of engagement.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior security consultants to collect and analyze client requirements and design integrated security solutions.
  • Participate in design activities from requirements analysis through systems, application and process design specification and implementation.
  • Work as a team member with client personnel and IBM teams to identify functional requirements and lead others in the design of client solutions.
  • Gain knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, or architectures and apply a growth mindset to deliver business value.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Outcome focused, resilient, and flexible to achieve success across consultative contexts.
  • Familiarity with network design, network security, authentication, authorization, and encryption protocols and standards.
  • Experience in security domains such as Threat Management, Data and Application Security, Identity & Access Management, Cloud and Infrastructure Security, and / or Strategy and Risk.
  • Knowledge in network design and security, web / custom application development, mobile development, software engineering, identity and authentication technology.
  • Exposure to software tools such as Java, Python, C / C++, Go, Ruby, Bash and software code testing / automation.
  • Familiarity with network security tools for vulnerability scanning, monitoring, sniffing, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection, protection, anomaly detection and encryption.

    • Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Proven experience as a Security Consultant with a track record of advising clients on security solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at addressing complex security challenges.
  • Technical proficiency in implementing tailored security solutions for diverse business requirements.
