Job Summary :
Under general supervision, instructs, counsels, monitors and evaluates nursing personnel during orientation to Agency ;assists in planning, presenting, evaluating and revising staff development activities;
performs duties of team leader or Staff Nurse when needed.
Job Responsibilities :
Instructs, counsels and monitors the work of nursing orientees in the aspects of clinical nursing relative to assigned area;
educates nursing orientees concerning nursing policies and procedures.
Collaborates with Nurse Educator / DOCS / Administrator in planning and structuring orientation program to meet the individual orientee's needs;
plans daily assignments for orientees.
Performs on-going assessment and regular formal evaluations of nursing staff during orientation period; documents all observations and submits recommendations to supervisor (e.
g., duration of individual orientation).
- Assists Nurse Educator / DOCS / Administrator in planning, presenting, evaluating and revising the staff development activities and nursing policies and procedures.
- Serves as a role model and resource person for all nursing staff.
- Performs duties and responsibilities of charge nurse / team leader or Staff Nurse as needed or directed.
- Adheres to the mission, vision, values and code of Business Conduct as established by Agency. Demonstrates an understanding of and a commitment to customer service values of respect, courtesy, ownership, privacy, professionalism and responsiveness.
- Adheres to Agency and department policies, procedures, and objectives and perform sother duties as assigned.
- Perform On call Rotation weekends and do Kinsser Charting on timely manner. Provides training and guidance to assigned personnel.
- Provides functional guidance and training to less skilled personnel.
- May act as charge nurse or team leader.
- May supervise nursing students.
Experience :
- Must have the clinical knowledge and critical thinking ability to effectively plan and provide coordination of patient care consistent with standards and regulations.
- Must have exceptional interpersonal and customer services skills; must be able to effectively solve unique problems as they arise or identify when to consult the director.
- Must have knowledge of current home health care admission criteria, Medicare, Medicaid, State and Federal regulations.
- Must be a licensed RN by the State Board of Nursing.
- Have had two (2) years of experience with a home health required.

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs for internal communications (email) and database tracking / reporting, as well as proficiency working with electronic health records.
- Must be proficient in the use Kinsser / WellSky Software.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service.
Skills :
- Evidence of progressive leadership responsibilities, including fiscal management is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of home health licensure, regulations, and Medicare Conditions of Participation (COP).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with a wide variety of personnel when identifying and resolving sensitive and complex patient or administrative issues.
- Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrates proven decision-making skills.
- Must read, write and comprehend English.
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in health-related field
Licensure / Certification :
License and current registration as a Registered Nurse.
