MHE Service Technician II
Picture the start of your day : you walk the line of material handling equipment, eyes and ears tuned to the hum of conveyors and lifts. You prioritize scheduled service, then dive into inspections, repairs, and adjustments strictly in line with OEM specifications. When a complex fault pops up, you take the lead and guide less experienced mechanics through diagnostics and safe, quality repair practices. Between jobs, you document work orders and time with accuracy, keep your area spotless, and make sure the next machine on the schedule is ready for its turn.
What you will do
- Maintain, inspect, repair, and service MHE equipment in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines and specifications.
- Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced mechanics on complex assignments as needed.
- Plan and perform routine maintenance on all equipment; complete work on assigned material handling equipment to keep operations running.
- Identify, order, and replace parts necessary to complete preventive and corrective repairs.
- Complete data entry for work orders and maintenance time sheets accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe, clean workspace and perform all work to established quality standards and safety procedures.
- Perform additional maintenance duties as necessary.
- Foster the MSC Culture within the department and across the company to support MSC's unity of purpose and mission.
- Participate in special projects and take on additional duties as required.
Education and experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.Technical certification is a plus.Minimum of five years of job-related experience required.Five years of hands-on electrical, mechanical, and systems diagnostics experience with material handling equipment (primarily Raymond, Crown & Hyser) required.Skills
Must comply with disposal of DOT regulated items where required.Basic computer literacy (Excel / Word) required.Must obtain MSC license to drive warehouse vehicles within specified time requirements.Working knowledge and experience with conveyor systems and controls, plumbing, and HVAC is a plus.Physical requirements
Bending to lift items from the floor and racks required.Able to lift up to 75 pounds.Comfortable operating at heights up to 50 feet.Ability to stand for prolonged periods.Miscellaneous
A valid state driver's license is required.
