Position : Mortgage Loan Underwriter II

Department : Real Estate

Reports To : VP of Mortgage Lending

Status : Non-Exempt

Are you ready to make a real impact in the world of mortgage lending? CBC Federal Credit Union is looking for a Mortgage Loan Underwriter II who's not just great with numbers-but also passionate about helping members achieve their homeownership dreams!

  • ???? What You'll Do :
  • Be the hero behind the scenes, assessing mortgage loan applications and making smart, informed decisions.
  • Guide members through the loan process with clarity and care-making their experience smooth and memorable.
  • Keep CBC's mortgage lending operations running like a well-oiled machine by applying your expertise and following our awesome policies.
  • Collaborate with processors, closers, and sales teams to ensure every loan is a success story.
  • Stay sharp with Freddie, FHA, VA, and Bond Programs-and help train others to be just as awesome.

  • ???? What You Bring :
  • 5–8 years of real estate lending / underwriting experience.
  • A knack for analyzing income docs, credit reports, appraisals-you name it!
  • Leadership skills that inspire confidence and teamwork.
  • Stellar communication and decision-making abilities.
  • A passion for member service and a drive to go above and beyond.
  • ???? Education & Requirements :
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must register as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with NMLS.
  • Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass the California notary exam (bonus points!).
  • ???? Work-Life Balance :
  • 40-hour workweek with occasional overtime.
  • Light physical activity in a comfy office setting.
  • Minimal travel (up to 10%).
