Section Leader - Manager

The Effectors Configuration Management department is looking for an individual to perform the role of a Section Leader - Manager. This position is in Tucson, Arizona.
What You Will Do
- Influence and lead a team through strong communication and engagement.
- Actively engage with all Program Managers, Chief Engineers, and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads for assigned programs to ensure that Configuration Management is actively represented within the program.
- Direct team members in industrial and process evaluation, improvement, and / or reengineering in support of Operations and Engineering activities.
- Assist in the development of action plans to address key engineering focus areas.
- Technically support program milestones and contribute to successful reviews and customer interchanges.
- Identify and elevate, when required, technical execution risks (includes technical discipline, technical performance, cost and schedule performance) to program and functional management.
- Meet the team's committed schedule, cost, and performance requirements.
- Use common solutions, common hardware, modularity and smart buyer techniques in the design / development process.
- Provide program and functional management insight into the health of the team's technical execution.
- Conduct performance / career development discussions, including plans for employee improvement.
- Coach and mentor, technically and personally, to ensure employee success.
- Define team staffing needs to management.
- Ensures the team understands and follows proper company media.
- Collaborate with the CMDM Leadership teams on goals and strategy.
- Create innovative solutions for customer and company initiatives.
- Recognize and provide appropriate team and individual rewards and recognition.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires : A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.Minimum 8 years of Configuration Management experience.Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) tools.Experience with leadership projects.Experience with government standards and processes, such as described in EIA-649, Configuration Management Standard.Experience with generating Configuration Management productivity metrics and reports.Experience with estimating, proposing, and managing configuration management cost and schedule on a program.Qualifications We Prefer
Systems thinking approach to analyzing engineering data.Change Agents leading the way for change in the organization.PDM tool Subject Matter Expert (SME).Common As Built System (CABS) tool experience.Excellent communication leadership skills.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Strong collaboration skills in teams as both a member and a leader.Ability to motivate and support employees to align with organizational goals.What We Offer
