• Work 3x12 night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Must maintain NY license in hand - no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Must be able to handle 1 : 5 to 1 : 7 patient ratio for MedSurg
• Patient ratios : 4 patients on nights, 3 patients on days and weekends
• Must have EPIC charting experience - hard requirement
• Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be located 75 miles from facility (local radius requirement)
• Float requirements to ICU or medical-surgical units
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Scrub color : Any combination of navy and white
• Skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, respiratory care, and isolation precautions
• Manage patients with continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Care for patients requiring airway management, BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV infusions
• Participate in rapid response and code teams
• Pre-approved time off : one request allowed
• Up to 5 billable hours for required modules completed pre-start Facility : This tertiary care hospital operates a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) serving as a critical care step-down unit. The facility provides evidence-based care for adult acute care patients requiring specialized monitoring and interventions beyond general medical-surgical capabilities. With 528 total staffed beds, the hospital receives patients from emergency departments, post-anesthesia care units, intensive care units, and medical-surgical floors. The unit focuses on pulmonary patients and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and various ancillary services.
