Survey Party Chief

Poznecki-Camarillo is looking for an experienced Transportation Survey Party Chief to join our growing survey team. Our surveyors utilize current Trimble robotic total stations, GPS and Terrestrial Scanners along with UAV.

Founded in 1981 as a land surveying and engineering firm, we have consistently and carefully added new services and staff as needed. In addition to our flourishing surveying and civil engineering departments, over the last decade we have developed bustling public involvement and environmental practices.

• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Perform control, route, topographic, boundary and construction surveys on public & private sector projects (primarily transportation and municipal, non-oil and gas)
• Utilize robotic total stations, GPS, terrestrial scanners and digital levels.
• Collecting survey field data in accordance with established procedures, codes & the requirements specified in individual survey requests. Knowledge of TxDOT codes is a plus
• Performing physical labor such as cutting & clearing brush lines, driving stakes in the ground, crossing difficult terrain, digging for and setting monumentation for corners
• Preparing daily progress and safety reports
• Supervising a survey crew in a professional manner
• Take accurate and reliable survey notes and field sketches
• Develop and mentor less experienced survey crew team members
• Committed to obtaining accurate survey data
• Safe Driving and ensuring upkeep of company vehicles
• Ensure equipment is operational and safe
• Other duties & assignments as directed, including assistance and support of Subsurface Utility Engineering team, as needed
• EDUCATION
• High School graduate or GED required
• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying
• MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Four (4) years Of Party Chief experience
• Responsive and results oriented in service to clients
• Ability to read and understand design / construction plans and metes & bounds descriptions from deeds and other legal documents
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and quickly adapt to and implement new standards and survey procedures
• Strong sense of time management and ability to prioritize and manage tasks on concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail
• Punctual and good attendance is required
• Ability to contribute to a positive team environment
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• TxDOT experience
• Experience with line coding
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
• Knowledge / experience with Trimble equipment
• LiDAR experience
• AutoCAD / Civil3d or MicroStation
