Senior Electrical Systems Engineer.
RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to be part of our engineering team at our facility in Eden Prairie, MN.
As a part of the team, qualified candidates will be able to work on a variety of projects within the areas of mobile equipment, automation, railway, and defense industries.
This is a full-time position, but part-time arrangements would also be considered.
Job Description
- Responsible for interpretation of and compliance with customer purchase specifications.
- Coordinate designer and design engineer’s efforts, based on budget and schedule.
- Make or supervise preparation of layout drawings and schematics.
- Prepare detail and assembly drawings.
- Confer with engineering management on problems encountered and questions arising on project.
- Develop requirements for and specify purchased components.
- Develop control system architecture.
- Support manufacturing and customers by troubleshooting and testing products.
- Communicate with other organizational operations on project requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and other assigned activities.
- Develop design calculations, project studies and report preparation.
- Optimize electrical component selection to achieve cost targets and machine performance.
- Design display and control panels for machinery.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing to provide the specifications for production launch.
- Work closely with vendors to optimize component selection.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- 3+ years of industry experience with electrical systems.
- Knowledge of applicable design standards covering Instrument & Control Design / Engineering such as NFPA, ISA, IEC, IEEE, ISA / IEC 61511, ISO13849, UL508A, and Mil Spec.
- Experience with Rockwell Studio 5000.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical preferred.
- Experience with Factory Talk HMI software is a plus.
- Experience with PDM software.
- Experienced with Microsoft office software.
- Successful completion FE or EIT and PE license preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a self-starter, have good communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team.
