Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab role requiring at least 2 years of circulator, scrub, and EP experience along with ACLS and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Hospital-based Cath Lab assignment caring for adult and geriatric patients
  • Performs circulating, scrub, and electrophysiology duties
  • Typical caseload averages 10-16 cases per day
  • 4x10 hour day shifts, 6 : 45 am to 5 : 15 pm
  • No weekend shifts required
  • Floating may be required to the Cath Lab or affiliated hospitals depending on census and skill set
  • Uses Pyxis, Epic, and Prucka (GE) systems
  • Three-day orientation provided
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Responsible for circulating, scrubbing, and EP lab functions within the Cath Lab
  • RTO (requested time off) of up to 7 days may be approved if not during holidays; no RTO allowed during orientation week
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
  • Fatigue policy prohibits working more than 5 days in a row or over 60 hours per week
  • Acute care modules (8-10 hours) must be completed pre-start and annually
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Travel pairs permitted only if working on different units
  • Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact); license must be in hand by start date
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Cath Lab RN experience
  • Experience with circulating, scrub, and EP procedures required
  • Certifications required : ACLS and BLS
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Unit does not accept first-time travelers
  • Candidates who previously worked in a staff or PRN role at this health system must have a 12-month gap before applying as a traveler
  • Must provide two manager or supervisor references from the past 12 months by the start date
