Transformer Manufacturing Operations Manager Summary
This position demands a proactive leader with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive operational excellence in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position supervises a team of supervisors involved in the manufacturing and remanufacturing of transformers. Directs manufacturing activities in an efficient manner to achieve the Company goals for safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
Operations Manager Responsibilities :
- Direct and implement operational strategies to achieve division goals.
- Manage and forecast departmental budgets to meet annual financial objectives.
- Oversee employee training and onboarding, ensuring continuous development and alignment with operational needs.
- Set performance expectations and measure team outcomes in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Mentor supervisors and staff, fostering career growth and a collaborative team environment.
- Resolve employee concerns related to roles, performance, and workplace relations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor and manage job costs and materials in collaboration with department supervisors.
- Maintain open communication with the VP / General Manager on key operational updates.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including disciplinary actions and HR coordination.
- Represent the company at industry events to stay informed of technical advancements.
- Provide customer support and operational coverage during weekends or off-hours, as needed.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in an engineering discipline is required; experience in transformer manufacturing will be considered with a degree in Business.Eight to ten years of experience in supervising / managing equipment manufacturing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Prior management experience with profit and loss statements, including financial budgeting, is preferred.Experience interfacing with a formal ERP system is required (preferably in a manufacturing environment).Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and nationwide criminal background check.Work weekends and / or cover on off shifts as needed.What We Offer
