Controls Engineer Job Responsibilities
Design, install, troubleshoot, and support automation controls systems (PLC / HMI / Servo)Program and modify Siemens TIA Portal , DCS, and other logic-based systemsSupport new equipment installations, upgrades, and system integrationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve machine performance and uptimeProvide technical leadership , training, and development for maintenance techniciansDevelop documentation, LOTO procedures, and equipment guidesLead or support plant-wide controls and automation projects from concept to completionMaintain familiarity with the latest controls tech, safety standards, and industry best practicesControls Engineer Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred (Electrical or related field)3-5 years of experience in a controls / automation engineer roleProficient with Siemens TIA Portal and industrial controls softwareFamiliarity with PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, drives, and sensor technologiesStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and troubleshooting methodologyAbility to lead and coach cross-functional technical teamsExcellent project management and documentation skillsComfortable supporting 24 / 7 operations as needed (off-hours availability may be required)
