DSWA is seeking to fill a full time Assistant Supervisor of Waste Facility Weighmasters position for our Dover Admin Office located in Dover, DE. This position reports directly to the Supervisor of Waste Facility Weighmasters. Five years of weighmaster experience is preferred. This position includes a full benefit package including State of DE Pension, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and other benefits. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.This position is classified as non-exempt and is a paygrade 20. The minimum payrate for non- exempt paygrade 20 is $24.45 per hour; however, the minimum starting payrate for this position will be based on the selected candidate's Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), Qualifications, Credentials and Experience . PURPOSE : The purpose of this position is to assist the Supervisor of Waste Facility Weighmaster meet operational goals, requirements, and standards at all landfills and transfer stations.Job duties include but are not limited to :

• Routinely performs duties as a weighmaster as directed by the Supervisor of Waste Facility Weighmasters.
• Assists in supervising, planning and directing daily activity of Weighmasters.
• Assists in training staff and prepares schedules to ensure adequate coverage at operating facilities.
• Assists in completing bi-weekly timesheets for the other weighmasters.
• Assist customers and contractors. Handles complaints and questions pertaining to facility scalehouse operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS : Requires completion of a high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years as a weighmaster or any equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential tasks.Must possess a valid driver’s license. First Aid CPR certification (Certification training provided by DSWA). Knowledge of DSWA policies and procedures and permit, regulatory items set forth by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources. Knowledge of specialty programs used by the facility to include Comp-U-Weigh for the scale systems. Knowledge of budget and financial responsibilities. Knowledge of the office and field equipment including scale, computer and mechanical items. Ability in establishing effective working relationships. Ability in supervising and managing subordinate personnel effectively. Ability to diagnose, resolve operational issues with equipment. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with staff and customers. Physical Requirements : This position requires standing, walking, sitting, gripping or feeling with hands, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, talking or hearing, tasting or smelling. This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds. This position requires close vision (clear at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships). This position risks exposure to indoor environment, outdoor environment, noise, extreme temperatures, vibration, moisture and / or humidity, dust, fumes, gases, electrical hazards, mechanical hazards, chemical hazards, explosive hazards and burn hazards.
