Lead Information Systems Engineer

Job Summary :

The Lead Information Systems Engineer serves as the senior technical authority over the M365 cloud environment. This role provides advanced engineering support across various M365 services, ensuring secure, compliant, and optimized operations. The Lead Engineer also leads troubleshooting efforts for complex technical issues.

Location : District of Columbia, United States

Responsibilities :

• Lead engineering oversight for M365 tenant services.
• Develop and maintain M365 environment baselines, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Design and implement Power Platform environments, pipelines, and governance models.
• Integrate data classification, sensitivity labeling, retention, and DLP policies.
• Oversee tenant-level controls including identity, access, compliance, conditional access, and audit logging.
• Provide complex troubleshooting for tickets.
• Support SQL Server and Windows Server clusters.
• Lead Proof-of-Concepts, pilot deployments, and technology modernization activities.
• Provide status reporting on deliverables, risks, issues, and dependencies.

Required Skills & Certifications :

Expert in M365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive).

Deep expertise in Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse).

Experience with Purview, Defender, Graph connectors, and Loop experience.

Strong PowerShell scripting skills.

Knowledge of AvePoint Online Services modules and configurations.

SQL Server and Windows Server engineering experience.

10+ years IT experience, with 5+ years supporting enterprise M365 environments.

Preferred Skills & Certifications :

Microsoft 365 Certified : Enterprise Administrator Expert

Power Platform Solution Architect Expert

Azure Administrator Associate

Security / Compliance certifications (SC-400, SC-300)
