Sr. Principal Consultant
The Sr. Principal Consultant is a strategic partner with the Fossil Leadership Team and Sr. OE Director to develop and maintain processes and policies to ensure a constantly improving and engaged workforce. Operates with enterprise-level influence and independent professional judgment. Key contributor to reducing operational risk, lowering costs, and promoting positive culture. Provide cross-functional field consultation to management to assure cultural alignment and engagement efforts support the business strategy and priorities. Mentor regarding HP & Lean principles, tools, application, and reinforcement. Support leaders as they seek improved performance, greater employee engagement, and high reliability. A key contributor to the development and implementation of training and tools for improving human and organizational performance across the fleet. A change agent interfacing with SVPs to plant level workers to leaders across Vistra at all levels Lead, deploy, and mentor direct and indirect reports on the OpEx and HP team.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead Human Performance and Operational Excellence efforts. Plan, deploy, and maintain a culture of learning, agility, and Continuous Improvement.
- Lead Operational Learning efforts, learn from events to improve reliability / safety / costs.
- Work across all business units at all levels, creating value and buy-in as the key change facilitator to build effective, reliable, repeatable and scalable processes and leadership styles.
- Partner with leadership to drive continuous improvement in alignment with company goals.
- Build capabilities throughout the organization to improve processes, drive efficiencies and create measurable financial returns.
- Be a cause analysis SME- Learning Teams, Latent Cause Analysis, Tripod Beta, and other problem-solving methodologies.
- Coordinate with the Sr. OE Director, OE team, and Operations Leaders to create, test, and improve strategies, tools, and training content for Human Performance and lean / Continuous Improvement (OPI).
- Partners with HR, Operations, and Safety to build leader capability in systems thinking, psychological safety, and human performance principles.
- Serves as an internal management consultant and trusted advisor to leadership teams across multiple business units and geographies.
- Provide leadership / mentoring / training to all levels of the business on the use and practice a variety of HPI / Lean tools creating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct assessment of the HPI / Lean efforts.
- Co-create and co-deliver Continuous Improvement / Change Management training for all levels of the organization.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
High school diploma / GED required. Experience gained through college degree programs and / or certifications is applicable to some of the skills listed10+ yrs of progressive experience in HOP Development, Process Improvement, and / or change management.Demonstrated successful culture change effortsProfessional certifications desired : Latent Cause Analysis, RCA, Just Culture, Influencer, Lean / Six Sigma, etc.Strong mentoring, training and coaching skills.Superior communicator with small / large groups of varying seniority.Professional certifications desired : Latent Cause Analysis, RCA, Just Culture, Influencer, Lean / Six Sigma, HBDI, Change Management, Human Synergistics, ICF-Certified Executive Coach. etc.Key Metrics
