Job Summary :
The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems that automate and optimize industrial processes. This role involves programming PLCs, configuring HMIs and SCADA systems, troubleshooting control issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop control systems and automation strategies for manufacturing or industrial equipment
- Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, and SCADA systems
- Conduct system integration, testing, and validation to ensure performance and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in control systems and related hardware / software
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to meet project goals
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and user manuals
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies
- Provide training and support to maintenance and operations teams
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field2-5 years of experience in controls engineering or automationProficiency in PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text), HMI design, and SCADA configurationFamiliarity with industrial protocols (Ethernet / IP, Modbus, Profibus)Strong understanding of control theory, system dynamics, and instrumentationExperience with CAD software and electrical schematicsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesSkills :
Experience with robotics, motion control, or vision systemsKnowledge of Python, C++, or MATLAB for control algorithm developmentFamiliarity with DCS systems and industrial networkingCertifications such as CCST (Certified Control Systems Technician) or PE (Professional Engineer)Work Environment :
