Our facility includes a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, providing the best in specialty healthcare.\n\nThe Neuroscience and Stroke Unit features a 28-bed telemetry unit specializing in care for neurosurgical patients and those experiencing neurological issues such as strokes or seizures. Our standard nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4, ensuring individualized attention.\n\nEssential Functions\n

- Conduct thorough nursing assessments and recognize changes in patient status, prioritizing care based on findings.\n
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.\n
- Continuously update care plans based on patient condition changes and maintain effective communication with the team.\n
- Ensure cultural, spiritual, and personal beliefs are respected in care planning and delivery.\n
- Plan for safe discharges that assure continuity of care.\n
- Deliver direct care according to established nursing plans and organizational policies.\n
- Delegate appropriate nursing tasks to team members and promote teamwork in care delivery.\n
- Monitor the quality of care and prioritize tasks based on patient needs.\n
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols.\n
- Utilize performance indicators to enhance quality and effectiveness of nursing care.\n
- Engage in performance improvement activities and apply findings to enhance patient outcomes.\n
- Assess and address patient / family educational needs, utilizing easily understandable language.\n
- Document all activities and maintain communication that supports patient care needs.\n
- Act as an advocate for patients, coordinating care with the healthcare team.\n
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and patient care.\n\nSupervisory / Management Responsibility\n
- This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor or manager.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n
- Education : Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor's preferred.\n
- Experience : One (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse.\n\nIn Lieu Of\n
- Successful completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program or comparable program from another organization.\n
- Internal candidates may substitute one year of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience within the same service line.\n\nRequired Certifications, Registrations, Licenses\n
