Tentative Work Schedule : 6 (10 hour shifts) 7AM-5 : 30PM
$120.00 per diem - 7 days (if you work all scheduled days in the week)

Job Summary :
Perform intermediate tasks involving reinforcing and structural steel installation. This role includes rigging, cutting, welding, and layout under limited supervision. Workers apply techniques with greater independence and accuracy.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Perform layout and placement of reinforcing steel and structural members.
Cut and fabricate rebar and steel with torches and saws.
Use oxyfuel cutting and arc welding equipment.
Install post-tensioning systems.
Erect and bolt-up steel structures using proper torquing techniques.
Perform rigging tasks with minimal supervision.
Lead small crews on basic installs.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Proficiency in Oxyfuel and Plasma Arc Cutting : Understands and safely performs cutting operations using both oxyfuel and plasma arc equipment, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Welding Setup and Execution : Demonstrates skill in SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), including electrode selection, arc striking, and welding in horizontal / flat positions.
Advanced Rigging Knowledge : Understands load calculations, center of gravity, sling types, and inspection criteria. Able to determine appropriate rigging gear and signal crane operations per ANSI / ASME standards.
Reading Structural Blueprints and Rebar Placement Drawings : Interprets symbols, dimensions, elevations, schedules, and sequencing in construction documents.
Use of Torque Wrenches and Tension-Control Bolts : Accurately installs high-strength bolts using calibrated tools and techniques that ensure proper load.
Bar Bending and Cutting Skills : Uses manual and power tools to bend and cut reinforcing bars based on specific project requirements and shop drawings.
Knowledge of Post-Tensioning Systems : Understands the principles of post-tensioned concrete, safety hazards, stressing procedures, and equipment handling.
Fall Protection & Elevated Work Practices : Demonstrates the ability to install and use fall arrest systems, guardrails, and lifelines in accordance with OSHA regulations and best practices.
Material Handling and Inventory Control : Tracks deliveries, identifies materials based on tags / specs, and stores components according to jobsite logistics plans.
Basic Crew Leadership Attributes : Can lead small tasks or crews in the absence of supervision, relay instructions, and ensure safe workflow continuity.
Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand technical documents, safety procedures, and instructions relevant to job duties. English proficiency is required due to operational and safety communication needs.
Education and Experience :
High School diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of field experience.
Physical Requirements :
Lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
Ability to work in elevated locations, confined spaces, and variable weather conditions.
