Job descriptionRespond promptly to scheduled work orders and service calls Diagnose, repair, and maintain : Plumbing (leak repair, fixture installs) Electrical (outlet / wiring troubleshooting) Carpentry (drywall, trim, door & window repairs) HVAC basics (filter changes, thermostat calibration) Appliance repair (washer / dryer, dishwasher, fridge) Communicate clearly and courteously with tenants and property managers Document work performed and close out work orders in our system Escalate complex or recurring issues to senior staff Maintain a clean, professional appearance and work truck Competitive Pay : based on experience & certifications Emergency Call Bonuses : Trip charge + additional hourly rate for night / weekend calls Flexible Zone Assignments : Minimize drive time within approximately 30-minute radius Autonomy & Growth : Direct input on maintenance processes and priority projects Opportunities for advancement Paid time off Professional development assistance 8 hour shift This position requires availability to work across multiple areas of Chicago within a 30-minute radius. This is not a fixed-location or single-building role. Reliable & Responsive : Valid U.S. driver’s license, clean driving record Reliable transportation, full auto insurance Available for occasional after-hours emergency calls Background Check : Must pass a pre-employment background screening 1099 Contract : This role is 1099 with bi-weekly pay

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll own your “zone” — completing 4–5 work orders per day within a 30-minute radius of the River North neighborhood (Rogers Park down to Woodlawn, West to Cicero / Berwyn). You’ll troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC filters, appliance issues, and more across scattered-site residential properties.
Schedule :
- Standard hours : Mon–Fri, 9?AM–5?PM
- Occasional emergency calls nights / weekends (bonuses paid per call)
