Senior Vice President, Marketing

Zayos communications infrastructure solutions include dark fiber, private data networks, wavelengths, Ethernet, and dedicated Internet access. Zayo serves wireless and wireline carriers, media, tech, content, finance, healthcare and other large enterprises.

We are seeking a visionary and execution-oriented leader to serve as Senior Vice President, Marketing, responsible for defining and delivering a marketing strategy that accelerates growth, strengthens brand equity, and drives measurable impact across the organization. This role operates at the intersection of market strategy, product positioning, demand generation, and partner ecosystem development, with direct influence on executive decision-making and cross-functional alignment. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in enterprise B2B marketing, a proven ability to architect category-defining narratives, and a track record of scaling high-performing teams. This leader must combine analytical rigor with creative storytelling, ensuring Zayo is recognized as the partner of choice for digitally progressive enterprises, local to national governments, carriers and cloud providers alike, while confidently communicating strategy and outcomes across all levelsfrom individual contributors to C-level executives and the Board.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Define the enterprise-wide marketing vision aligned with Zayos corporate strategy and growth objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief Product & Strategy Officer, the Chief Sales Officer and broader executive leadership team, influencing company direction through marketing insights.
  • Shape Zayos category narrative, ensuring the company is viewed as an innovator and leader in infrastructure and connectivity.

Functional Leadership

  • Lead and integrate an innovative team spanning :
  • Product & Segment Marketing Position Zayos solutions with clarity and precision across markets and customer segments.
  • Corporate Communications Guide media, analyst relations, executive communications, and internal messaging.
  • Creative Services Oversee brand identity, design, and creative execution to ensure consistency and impact.
  • Marketing Operations Drive data, systems, processes, and analytics that tie investment to outcomes.
  • Demand Generation Build scalable multi-channel campaigns that produce pipeline and revenue growth.
  • Events & Experiences Deliver high-impact customer, industry, and partner events that amplify Zayos presence.
  • Partner & Ecosystem Marketing

  • Architect a next-generation partner marketing strategy to deepen alliances, joint solutions, and partner-driven revenue.
  • Launch co-marketing and partner enablement initiatives that accelerate ecosystem growth.
  • Customer Engagement

  • Develop marketing programs tailored for CIOs, enterprise buyers, digitally progressive enterprises, local to national governments, carriers and cloud providersshaping narratives that connect across audiences.
  • Amplify customer success stories and integrate feedback loops into go-to-market strategy.
  • Operational Excellence

  • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting cadences to measure ROI, pipeline impact, and market presence.
  • Steward the enterprise-wide Marketing budget with discipline and transparency, making data-driven investment decisions.
  • Build scalable operations and processes that enable agility and efficiency across the function.
  • Talent & Culture

  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a diverse, world-class marketing leadership bench.
  • Model Zayos culture of agility, collaboration, and accountability while fostering innovation and creativity.
  • Invest in the next generation of leaders capable of scaling with the company.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum of twenty (20) years in progressive B2B marketing leadership roles, with significant executive-level experience in SaaS, cloud, or infrastructure technology.
  • Demonstrated success leading marketing organizations across multiple disciplines (brand, demand gen, partner, product, comms, and ops).
  • Proven track record of shaping category-defining narratives and achieving measurable growth in fast-changing markets.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing large budgets tied directly to revenue outcomes.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, and influencing skillsadept at engaging customers, partners, investors, media, and internal executives.
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed environments while driving urgency, clarity, and alignment.
  • Blend of creative vision and analytical rigor with the ability to translate ideas into actionable strategies.
  • Location : This position will consider applicants that currently reside in the continental United States (remote work), but Denver, Colorado is preferred.

    Estimated base pay range : $290,000 - $325,000 USD / annually.

    The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non-sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

    Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.

    The posting will be active for a minimum of 3 days. The active posting will continue to extend by 3 days until the position is filled.
